The best home charger for a Kia EV6
Another car where the model year decides the connector. Two minutes at the charge port saves buying the wrong thing.

The connector, by model year
Published lists put the 2025 Kia EV6 on a native NACS port. Earlier EV6s use CCS, whose upper section is a J1772 inlet, so a J1772 home charger plugs straight in. The same lists note that the EV9 got native NACS from the 2026 model year, having skipped it for 2025 -- a good illustration of why the model year, not the brand, is the thing to check.
The practical guidance is the same as everywhere on this site: go and look at the charge port. It takes two minutes and it is authoritative for your car, which no table can be.

The 800-volt distinction worth understanding
The EV6 shares the fast-charging 800-volt architecture that makes DC charging remarkably quick. None of that applies at home. Home charging is AC, capped by the car's onboard charger, and it is the same speed as any comparable EV.
This trips people up: they read about extremely fast charging, expect it in the garage, and are disappointed. Charging levels explained covers why the two systems are separate.

1. A first charger, hardwired

- 40 A ceiling, slower than the 48 A units if your panel can take more
