The Ioniq 5 is a good illustration of why the by-vehicle question exists at all. It is the same car, sold across a connector transition, so the right charger depends on which one you have.

Which connector does your car have?

The most reliable answer is to go and look at the charge port, which is on the rear right quarter. Published lists put Hyundai's native-NACS models as the 2025 and later Ioniq 5, the 2025 and later Ioniq 6, and the 2026 Ioniq 9. Earlier cars use the CCS Combo standard, whose top section is a J1772 inlet -- which is what a home charger plugs into.

How fast will it charge at home?

The Ioniq 5 is well known for very fast DC charging on its 800-volt architecture. That is a separate system from home charging. At home you are using AC, and the ceiling is the car's onboard charger.

Find your car's AC charging rate in the owner's manual -- it varies by model year and trim, and we will not print a figure we cannot cite for your specific car. Then work out the real numbers in the charging speed calculator.

2. Homes with an uncertain panel
