What that means in practice
When you click a "Check price on Amazon" button here and then buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price as you would have paid arriving at Amazon any other way. The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your pocket.
This is how the site is funded. There are no ads, no paywall, no newsletter sponsorships and no sponsored posts.
The Amazon Associates statement
Plug & Pylon is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Our Amazon Associates tracking tag is fafplugandpylon-20. Every outbound product link on this site routes through our own /go resolver and carries that tag.
Which links earn us money

What we do not accept
- Free products. Zero, and if that ever changes we will say so on the relevant page.
- Sponsored placements. No manufacturer has paid to appear or to rank here, and none can.
- Paid rankings or paid reviews. Not available at any price.
- Paid links. We do not sell links, buy links, or take part in link exchanges.
Why the commission does not distort the picks
- We have joined exactly one affiliate program. Amazon. There is no competing rate across merchants to be tempted by, because there is no second merchant.
- The commission percentage is the same across the chargers we cover, so recommending a more expensive unit is the only way commission could bias us -- and our picks routinely favor the cheaper option where it is the better buy.
- Several pages recommend spending nothing. Do you need a Level 2 charger and do plug-in hybrids need one both frequently conclude no. Those pages earn us precisely zero and they are among the most useful on the site.
- Every pick carries an explicit "skip this if". Telling you when not to buy something is not a rhetorical device here, it is on every product entry.
How the links are marked
Every affiliate link on this site carries `rel="sponsored nofollow noopener"`, displays `#ad` beneath it, and sits below a plain-English disclosure at the top of the page. Any page carrying affiliate links opens with that disclosure -- you should never have to hunt for it.
Prices
We do not publish prices. There is no live price feed on this site, so a price printed here would be a number that was true at some point and might not be now. Instead our buttons say "Check price on Amazon" and take you to the current price on Amazon's own page.
If you ever see a price, a "was/now", a discount percentage or a star rating on this site, it is a bug. Tell us.
Other programs
At the time of writing we have joined no affiliate network other than Amazon. If that changes, this page will be updated before any link goes live, and the relevant merchant will be named here.
