The best home charger for a Chevrolet Bolt
The Bolt is the clearest case on this site for not overbuying. A modest charger fills it overnight with hours to spare, and the connector answer depends on your model year.

The connector, by model year
Published reporting puts the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt on a native NACS (SAE J3400) port for AC and DC charging, making it the first Chevrolet with a NACS port rather than CCS1. It reaches CCS1 fast chargers through a CCS1-to-NACS adapter, and J1772 AC charging points through a J1772-to-NACS AC adapter.
Earlier Bolt EV and Bolt EUV models use CCS1, whose upper section is a J1772 inlet -- so a J1772 home charger plugs straight in with nothing extra.

Why a modest charger is the right buy
The Bolt has never been a fast-AC-charging car, and that is fine. Its onboard charger sets the ceiling on home charging speed, and buying a wall unit above that ceiling delivers exactly nothing extra today.
A typical Bolt day
You drove 40 miles. At around 4 mi/kWh that is about 10 kWh to replace
At 32 A (7.7 kW): about 1 hour 18 minutes
At 40 A (9.6 kW): about 1 hour 3 minutes
You are plugged in for ten hours either way.
Find your car's AC charging rate in the owner's manual before choosing amperage -- we are not going to print a per-trim figure we cannot cite for your specific car. Then run your own numbers in the charging speed calculator.
Where that saves you money
A 32-amp charger needs a 40-amp circuit; a 48-amp one needs 60. That difference is thinner wire, a smaller breaker, and a far better chance your existing panel copes without a subpanel -- which runs $500 to $1,500 on published figures. On a Bolt, the cheaper install is not a compromise, it is the correct answer.
