The best home charger for a Volkswagen ID. Buzz

A J1772 home charger plugs straight into a CCS inlet, and VW's 2026 models are expected to switch to NACS. Check the port on the one in your driveway, then buy once.

The connector

CarGurus says all 2026 Volkswagen models are expected to arrive with NACS charging inlets, and that the adapter listed on VW's site for the ID. Buzz and ID.4 showed as 'not currently available.' Expected is not the same as confirmed, so treat your own car's port as the deciding fact. The CCS Combo inlet's top section is a J1772 inlet -- which is what a home charger plugs into.

Buy once

A J1772 charger works either way: directly on a CCS inlet, and through an adapter on a NACS one. Tesla's Universal Wall Connector carries both connectors, which suits a garage that may hold one of each. Before choosing the circuit, check the ID. Buzz's AC charging rate in the manual.
