This is the adapter that answers the question the site asks of every charging accessory: is there a published certification? Lectron says yes, to UL 2252, tested by SGS. We have not tested one; figures come from Lectron's product page and announcement, linked at the foot of this page.

Where it works, and where it does not

Works: V3 and V4 Tesla Superchargers, with a CCS1 car whose automaker has approved Supercharger access.
Does not work: older V2 Superchargers, and Level 1 or Level 2 AC chargers, per Lectron.
Not needed: at home, where a Level 2 charger does the job. Home chargers.

Heat

Lectron says the adapter's safety system may reduce or temporarily pause charging in very hot conditions. If it becomes hot, Lectron advises separating it carefully and allowing about 30 minutes to cool before reuse -- worth knowing before a summer road trip.

Who should skip it

Your automaker supplies or sells its own adapter. Buy that first.
Your car already has a NACS port. It plugs into a Supercharger directly. NACS vehicles.
You are shopping for home charging. This is a road-trip part.
