How to charge a Tesla at a non-Tesla charging station
Level 2 public chargers take a J1772-to-NACS adapter. CCS fast chargers need a different, DC adapter -- and a quick check of your car first.

This question comes straight from the site's keyword research, and the answer depends entirely on the kind of station. AC and DC stations use different connectors, so they need different adapters -- and neither adapter does the other's job.

Level 2 stations
Most public Level 2 posts use J1772. A J1772-to-NACS adapter such as Lectron's -- rated 80 A, certified to UL 2252, with temperature monitoring -- lets a Tesla plug in. Many owners already have one; check before buying. The best J1772 adapters.
CCS fast chargers
