If you have decided you want an adjustable charger -- the right call when your panel's spare capacity is uncertain -- these are the two serious options. They are close enough that the decision comes down to physical constraints rather than performance.

Three questions that settle it

  1. Do you have space? If the wall is narrow, the Pulsar Plus at under eight inches square wins outright.
  2. Do you want to unplug it and take it with you? Then the Home Flex, because it is sold in a NEMA 14-50 version and the 48 A Pulsar Plus is hardwired.
  3. How long is your run? 25 feet against 23 feet. Measure it properly -- if you are near the limit this decides it.

The amperage difference is not the point

50 A vs 48 A

Home Flex at 50 A: 12.0 kW, about 42 miles per hour

Pulsar Plus at 48 A: 11.5 kW, about 40 miles per hour

Difference: roughly 20 miles over a 10-hour night

And the 50 A setting needs more circuit than most panels have to spare.

  • 23 ft is a foot shorter than the longest cables in this group

The smallest 48 A unit here at roughly 7.8 by 7.9 inches, which matters more than it sounds when the only free wall is beside a door.

The verdict

Wallbox Pulsar Plus if space is tight, your run is long, or you like the finer current steps for a constrained panel. ChargePoint Home Flex if you want the option of a plug-in installation, or you may eventually upgrade your service and want the extra headroom waiting.

The Pulsar Plus for a tight wall and a longer 25 ft cable; the Home Flex for a plug-in option and a 50 A ceiling. Both adjust to your circuit and both are properly certified.
Can the Wallbox Pulsar Plus be plugged in?
The 48-amp version is hardwired. If you specifically want a plug-in unit, the ChargePoint Home Flex is sold in a NEMA 14-50 version.
