These are the two most adjustable chargers on this site, which makes them natural rivals for a house whose panel capacity is not yet known. On output they tie. On everything else they differ in ways that matter to specific households.

The differences that matter

  • Connector. FLO sells the X3 with either connector. The Home Flex covered here is J1772, so a Tesla uses its adapter. Plug types.
  • Setting the current. ChargePoint offers six fixed steps from 16 A; FLO adjusts from 6 A. Either can be matched to a smaller circuit. How many amps you need.
  • Enclosure and cold. FLO publishes a Type 4X rating and an operating range down to -40 F. ChargePoint rates the Home Flex for indoor and outdoor installation. Cold-weather chargers.

The most adjustable unit here. It can be set anywhere from 16 A to 50 A, which makes it the one to buy when you do not yet know what your panel will allow.
